Space is limited to 40 participants per class.

Staff and other social service personnel are encouraged to attend to learn about workplace violence and techniques that they will need to promote safety while in the workplace. The training will be conducted by Sandra King, of Practical Consultants LLC, who has nearly 13 years of consulting experience in workplace violence and risk assessment.

The goal of this training is to:

  • Increase the awareness of the potential for violence in the workplace

  • Provide tools to assess volatile situations and potential dangerous relationships that may arise in the workplace

  • Teach skills needed to respond during a workplace violence scenario

  • Develop familiarity with tools to assess the workplace using a risk assessment

  • Allow the organization to learn how to process the risk assessment to reduce the threat of workplace violence

Participants in the training will be provided with a written evaluation and recommendations for worksite assessment. This assessment will offer practical and common sense approaches to improving the site and reducing the potential for workplace violence events.
